Chernobyl Research Papers - The Potential For Growth After the Nuclear Disaster

Chernobyl Research Papers - The Potential For Growth After the Nuclear DisasterNot only is there a great deal of potential for growth in the field of nuclear medicine after the Chernobyl disaster, but there is also a great deal of interest in the area by health researchers and especially by the government. There are some very good reasons for this level of interest, which in turn should lead to a great deal of data being published that is worth reading. In the meantime there are many people who are following the results of the basic fundamental research, looking for new therapies. We know that there are cures for cancer that have already been discovered by the researchers working on the site. Some of these will be available within the next year or two, but it appears that more discoveries are likely to be made, especially with respect to the genetic material of the individual in question. The scientists also report that there is still a lot to discover with respect to the primary illne ss that caused the reactor to fail, namely contamination of the soil with iodine-131, which can lead to thyroid cancer. This would be an extremely large number of cancers, and it is not difficult to see how a cure would be forthcoming. They are also looking at the many other potential diseases and illnesses that will be prevalent on the face of the planet in the future. They have already reported that radiation from the plant has led to an increase in heart attacks among people who live nearby. The research papers are also extremely interesting for those who have an interest in medicine, science and technology. We know that many individuals who have donated their blood to help eliminate cancer were sent information on how to use the plasma collected and on how they can donate if they do not have blood already. Many individuals who are employed in the nuclear industry are scared of what the Government and the International community will do to their families and their careers should the re be a major release of the material. In fact there is much fear that those whose families are currently irradiated will get jobs in the nuclear industry and then be stranded with children in the aftermath of the disaster. There is also the potential danger that radioactive material will end up in water supplies and with air travelers. Once in the environment it will be more difficult to remove because it will be more difficult to control than the larger debris field from Chernobyl. It is very likely that there will be many studies of the Chernobyl disaster in the future, and even research papers and books. The potential is certainly there for a significant amount of growth in the area of nuclear medicine research after the disaster.
